Original Black Sabbath bassist Geezer Butler had treasured to venture on a solo recording career since back in the '80s, but the chance -- and more than significantly, the right-hand group of musicians -- was never provided to the godfather of all heavy metallic element bassists until 1995 when the musician released Shaping Planet on TVT Records under the soubriquet of GZR. While many fans mightiness make been incognizant of the group's substantial metallic element line of descent due to the confusing call, those in the know were sure sated by GZR's ultra-heavy aggro mosh metallic element. Joining Butler on Pliant Planet ar Burton C. Bell (Fear Factory) on vocals, Pedro Howse on guitar, and drummer Deen Castronovo, whose résumé features recordings from Ozzy Osbourne, Steve Vai, Bad English, and many others. Besides its driving sound, this debut is about noteworthy for the scathing Tony Iommi commentary on the confidential information "Giving Up the Ghost." Never in truth a live band, this outfit played a few shows with Bell's Fear Factory, and in 1997, Butler released a second disk under the edited (and more than recognizable) soubriquet Geezer. The book was called Black Science and featured obscure vocalizer Clark Brown along with Howse and Castronovo. Like Pliant Planet, this second acquittance featured laborious riffs and o.k. sonic packaging, proving Butler to be an inventive and singularly sullen artist. Eight years and so passed earlier the ring returned with Ohmwork.

Michelle Obama to be a guest host on 'The View'

NEW YORK - Michelle Obama will be a guest host on "The View" on June 18.

The popular ABC daytime talk show had invited her to be a guest this month, but she sent back word that she would like to be a host like Cindy McCain did in April, said Bill Geddie, the show's executive producer.

"Equal time - that's hard to argue with," he said Wednesday.

Being a guest host will allow Michelle Obama to help interview guests and participate in the opening "hot topics," or banter about what's in the news that day. It offers the chance for someone to show a more complete personality than just sitting for an interview and talking about themselves, Geddie said.

Michelle Obama was injected into the campaign when the Tennessee Republican Party posted an online video questioning her patriotism. That prompted her husband, Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama, to say political opponents should lay off his wife.

When Cindy McCain was guest host in April, comic Craig Ferguson was the lead guest. No guests have been booked for Michelle Obama's show yet.

Barack Obama has appeared twice on "The View," once before his candidacy for president. Republican John McCain has been on several times. Geddie said he expected the candidates to seek out a chance to reach "The View" audience during the campaign and be questioned about what is going on.

"We treat the wives differently than the candidates," Geddie said. "We're tougher on the candidates than we are on the wives. We're trying to get to know them."

'Angelina Jolie Was A Gawky Looking Girl With A Mouthful Of Braces'

Angelina Jolie was an awkward, gawky teenager when Dustin Hoffman first met her, and he never dreamed she would become an international humanitarian and sex symbol.

The actress was a big fan of the Peter Pan story growing up and so her father, Jon Voight, asked a favour of his Midnight Cowboy co-star, and invited himself and his kids onto the set of the 1991 Steven Spielberg film.

Hoffman, who played Captain Hook in the movie version of J.M. Barrie's classic tale, never imagined he'd one day be working with the girl who his friend brought to meet him.

Now co-starring with Jolie in Kung Fu Panda, Hoffman recalls: "This film was the second time I met her. The first time was on Hook and Jon Voight whom I worked with on Midnight Cowboy called me up on the set and said, 'My kids are dying to meet Captain Hook. Can I come over?'

"So he brings over his kids, he comes in the camper and I'm introduced to his son and then to his daughter.

"She was a tall, thin, gawky looking girl with a mouthful of braces. I asked them, 'Do you guys have any idea what you want to do when you grow up?' She gave me an intense laser look and said, 'I'm going to be an actress!'"
